Rosa M. Miró-Roig facts for kids
Rosa M. Miró-Roig (born August 6, 1960) is a brilliant professor of mathematics at the University of Barcelona in Spain. She is an expert in special areas of math called algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. These fields help us understand shapes and patterns using numbers and equations. She studied at the University of Barcelona and earned her highest university degree, a Ph.D., in 1985. Her Ph.D. project was about complex math ideas related to shapes.

Books and Her Work
Rosa M. Miró-Roig has written and helped write several important math books. These books are used by other mathematicians to learn new things.
Her Own Books
She wrote a book called Determinantal Ideals in 2007. She also helped write two other books:
- On the Shape of a Pure O-sequence (2012)
- Gorenstein Liaison, Complete Intersection Liaison Invariants and Unobstructedness (2001)
Leading a Math Journal
Professor Miró-Roig is also the main editor of a math magazine called Collectanea Mathematica. This means she helps decide which new math discoveries get published for others to read.
Helping Edit Other Books
She has also helped put together several other math books, working with many other experts. Some of these books include:
- Projective Varieties with Unexpected Properties (2008)
- European Congress of Mathematics: Barcelona, July 10–14, 2000 (two volumes, 2001)
- Six Lectures on Commutative Algebra (1998)
- Complex Analysis and Geometry (1997)
Awards and Recognition
In 2007, Rosa M. Miró-Roig received a special award called the Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize. She won this award for her book "Determinantal Ideals," which showed her important contributions to mathematics.
