Rosalind Magee Peychaud was born in 1948. She is a former Democratic state representative for Louisiana House of Representatives District 91. She held this position from 2002 to 2004. Later, in 2009, Ms. Peychaud became a deputy chief of staff for U.S. Representative Joseph Cao. He was a Republican who represented Louisiana's 2nd congressional district. She worked in his office in New Orleans.

About Rosalind Peychaud
Rosalind Magee was born in Monticello, Mississippi, in 1948. Her father, James H. Magee Sr., was a church deacon. Her mother was Marion Magee. Rosalind has two sisters, Catherine and Regina, and one brother, James Jr.
She went to Jackson State University and earned a degree in educational psychology. This field helps understand how people learn. She also earned a master's degree in social work from Tulane University. Social work focuses on helping people and communities.
Helping Communities in New Orleans
Ms. Peychaud is the leader of the Neighborhood Development Foundation (NDF) in New Orleans. The NDF helps communities grow and improve. She has also worked with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. This group helps make housing more affordable.
She is also a member of the New Orleans City Planning Commission. This group helps plan how the city will develop. She also serves on the Neighborhood Conservation District Committee. This committee works to protect and improve neighborhoods. The NDF was started in 1986. It also had offices in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Hoffman Triangle Project
Rosalind Peychaud created the name "Hoffman Triangle." She named it after the John W. Hoffman Elementary School. This school is located within the area. The Hoffman Triangle was once a very messy and run-down area in New Orleans.
Conditions there became even worse after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Ms. Peychaud continued to care about the Hoffman Triangle. She spoke about community development at a national meeting in 2008.
Her Political Work
Ms. Peychaud is known for being part of a group that wanted to reform the Orleans Parish Democratic Party. She often disagreed with another political family, the Jeffersons.
In 2002, Ms. Peychaud won a special election for her state representative seat. She won against Jalila Jefferson-Bullock, who is the daughter of William J. Jefferson. However, she lost the seat to Ms. Jefferson-Bullock in the next election in 2003.
Ms. Peychaud supported Karen Carter Peterson in a 2006 election. Later, in 2008, when William J. Jefferson won the Democratic primary again, Ms. Peychaud and other Democrats supported Republican Joseph Cao. Mr. Cao then won the election against Jefferson.
Personal Life
Rosalind Magee Peychaud is married to Joseph Ernest Peychaud. His family is connected to Antoine Amédée Peychaud. He was the person who created Peychaud's Bitters, a special ingredient used in drinks.
