Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Rosemont is a small place in Nebraska, United States. It's not a big city or even a town with its own local government. Instead, it's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and buildings that are part of a larger county, in this case, Webster County.

A Look Back: Rosemont's History

Rosemont has a simple but interesting history. It was named after a person! The land where Rosemont is located was originally owned by a man named Claus Rose, Sr. That's how the community got its name.

A long time ago, in 1890, a post office was opened in Rosemont. Post offices were very important back then. They were the main way people sent and received letters, packages, and news. It was a central place for the community. This post office served the people of Rosemont for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1955.
