She was known for her amazing career in the entertainment world of Cuba. Rosita worked in movies, on stage, on the radio, on television, and in cabaret shows. She was truly a star with many talents!

Early Life of Rosita Fornés
Rosita Fornés was born on February 11, 1923, in New York City. When she was a young child, her family moved to Cuba. Her parents were immigrants from Spain. Her father was from a region called Catalonia, and her mother was from Madrid.
Her parents later divorced. When Rosita was about five years old, her mother remarried, and Rosita took her stepfather's last name. At age ten, her family moved to Spain for three years. After that, they returned to live in Cuba.
Rosita Fornés's Career Highlights
Rosita Fornés began her acting career in 1938. Her first performance was in a musical comedy called La corte suprema del arte. Soon after, she appeared in two Cuban films.
Becoming a Star in Mexico
Later, Rosita moved to Mexico. There, she became a big star during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema. She acted in many popular movies, including The Desire, Del can-can al mambo, and Se acabaron las mujeres.
Return to Cuba and Television
In 1952, Rosita returned to Cuba. She quickly became a pioneer in Cuban television. This means she was one of the first and most important people to work in TV there.
Rosita was praised for her amazing versatility. She could perform in many different areas of entertainment. She sang, acted in movies, performed in plays, worked on radio shows, appeared on television, and even did cabaret acts. Her final performance was in 2019. It was a special concert in Miami, just one year before she passed away.
Personal Life of Rosita Fornés
Rosita Fornés was married twice. Her first husband was Manuel Medel. They lived in Mexico and had one daughter together, named Rosa María. After they divorced, Rosita moved back to Havana in 1952.
She then married Armando Bianchi. They moved to Spain and worked in several theaters from 1957 to 1959. Armando Bianchi passed away in 1981.
Rosita Fornés died on June 10, 2020, in a hospital in Miami. She was 97 years old.
