Roxane Lee Prettyman (born March 15, 1957) is a politician from Maryland. She is a member of the Democratic Party. Since 2021, she has served in the Maryland House of Delegates. She represents District 44A, which is located in Baltimore.
Roxane Prettyman's Early Life
Roxane Prettyman was born in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood of Baltimore. Before becoming a politician, she worked for a long time. She was a paralegal specialist for the Social Security Administration for 39 years. She retired from this job in 2018.
Today, she is still very active in her community. She works as the community outreach and engagement director for First Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She also serves on other community groups and boards. Since 2015, she has been an active member of the Baltimore City Democratic State Central Committee.
Serving in the Maryland Legislature
Roxane Prettyman joined the Maryland House of Delegates on August 23, 2021. She was chosen to fill a spot after Keith Haynes resigned. This means she took over his role in the legislature.
In the House of Delegates, she is part of the Environment and Transportation Committee. This committee deals with important topics like the environment and how people travel.
