Roy Bell (born 30 August 1984) is an Australian former professional rugby league player. He played as a winger or fullback. Roy was part of the South Sydney Rabbitohs team in the NRL (National Rugby League). He played for them during the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

Playing Career Highlights

Roy Bell started his top-level rugby league journey in 2004. He made his first big game appearance for the South Sydney Rabbitohs. This was in a match against the North Queensland Cowboys. Even though his team lost, Roy scored a try in his very first game!

Short but Sweet Time in the NRL

Roy's time in the NRL was quite short. He played his last game in 2005. This was against St. George Illawarra at the famous Sydney Cricket Ground.

Even though he only played 9 games, Roy was very good at scoring tries. He managed to score 7 tries in those few matches. This is a great achievement for any player!

A Unique Player

Roy Bell became quite well-known among rugby league fans. This was partly because of his small size. At 165 cm tall and weighing only 65 kg, he was smaller than many other players. For example, he was even lighter than Preston Campbell, another famous player known for being small.

Despite his size, Roy was incredibly tough. He was known for being able to tackle players much bigger than himself. Fans loved this about him. It reminded them of older players like Norm Provan and Arthur Summons. They were also known for their strength and determination.

Life After the NRL

After leaving the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Roy Bell continued to play rugby league. He moved back to the North Coast of New South Wales. He played for local teams like Casino and Northern United. Later, he joined South Grafton. In 2015, he even helped South Grafton win a local championship!
