Roy Francis Guste, Jr. (born October 7, 1951, died August 9, 2021) was a talented writer, photographer, and food historian from New Orleans. He wrote 10 cookbooks about the special French-Creole food from Louisiana. Roy Guste was also a well-known historian of the Louisiana Creole people. He lived in the famous French Quarter of New Orleans for over 40 years.

Roy grew up in the Garden District, New Orleans. He also learned to cook at a famous school called Le Cordon Bleu.

From 1975 to 1984, Roy Guste ran Antoine's Restaurant. This restaurant is very famous in New Orleans and first opened way back in 1840. Roy was the fifth person in his family to be in charge of Antoine's.

Roy Guste's Family

Roy Guste's father, Roy F. Guste Sr. (1923–2010), helped manage Antoine's Restaurant too. Roy Guste was also the nephew of William J. Guste. William Guste was Louisiana's Attorney General for a very long time.
