Rueter was located in the southeastern part of Taney County, Missouri. You can find its former site where two main roads, U.S. Route 160 and Route 125, cross paths. This area is also near the popular city of Branson, Missouri.
How Rueter Got Its Name
The community of Rueter had a post office that first opened in 1906. The town was named after an early postmaster, a man whose last name was Reuter. Sometimes, the town's name was even spelled "Reuter."
