The Ruoff Music Center is a large outdoor music venue in Noblesville, Indiana. It's like a special outdoor theater, called an amphitheatre, where many people can gather to watch concerts. It is the biggest outdoor music spot in the Indianapolis area of central Indiana.

The venue has two main seating areas. There are 6,147 seats under a covered area, and then a huge lawn where 18,000 more people can sit on blankets or chairs. While it's mostly used for big concerts, it also hosts high school graduations and even political meetings.

Concerts and Music Festivals

The Ruoff Music Center is a popular place for live concerts and outdoor music festivals. It first opened its doors in 1989. The venue is located near Interstate 69, making it easy for people to get there.

A company called Sunshine Promotions built the amphitheater. Later, a bigger company named SFX bought Sunshine Promotions. Today, the venue is owned by Live Nation Entertainment, which is a very big company that organizes many concerts and events.

The Ruoff Music Center is known worldwide for how many tickets it sells. In 2018, a magazine for the concert business called Pollstar said it was the best concert amphitheater in the world! It was also ranked high in other years, like second in 2021 and third in 2017. In 2023, it was again ranked the top amphitheater globally for tickets sold, especially after hosting the Farm Aid concert.

A Look at Its History and Names

The Ruoff Music Center has had a few different names over the years. When it first opened in 1989, it was called the Deer Creek Music Center.

In 2001, its name changed to Verizon Wireless Music Center. This happened because a company called Verizon Wireless paid money to have the venue use their name. This is called "naming rights."

Around 2006, Live Nation, the owner, thought about selling the land where the music center is. But they decided to keep it.

Then, in 2011, the venue got a new name: Klipsch Music Center. This was because Klipsch Group, Inc., a company that makes audio equipment, bought the naming rights. Even with the new names, Live Nation still owned the venue and kept bringing in big music acts every summer.

New Name: Ruoff Music Center

In 2017, the contract with Klipsch ended. For about a year, the venue didn't have a company's name attached to it. But on September 27, 2017, Live Nation announced a new naming rights partner: Ruoff Home Mortgage. So, the venue officially became the Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center.

However, the name was shortened a couple of years later. On December 5, 2019, it was announced that the venue would simply be called the Ruoff Music Center.
