The Russell House is a beautiful old mansion in Springfield, Tennessee, USA. It was built in a style called Colonial Revival. This means it looks like homes from the early days of America. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 22, 2011. This list includes important historical places in the country.

History of the Russell House
Who Lived in the Russell House?
The land for the Russell House was bought by Julia Russell in April 1933. Julia (1898-1971) was the daughter of a very important local person. Her father, Colonel William Henry Simmons, owned a lot of land and was a big tobacco merchant.
Julia married Wilfred Russell in 1925. Wilfred was a businessman from Canada. Soon after they married, he moved to Springfield. He started working in the tobacco business there. Around the same time, Julia's sister, Mary, married Wilfred's old business partner, William Stephenson.
When Was the House Built?
The Russell House was built around 1935. Julia bought 71.2 acres of land for the house. Even though the house is now inside the city of Springfield, the area was mostly farmland back then. The Russell family even had tobacco fields near their home.
What is the Russell House Used for Today?
In December 2011, Greg and Stephanie Lee bought the Russell House. They now rent it out for special events like weddings. It's a popular place for people to celebrate.
In 2018, a Holiday Inn hotel was built on the land in front of the house.
