Russum is located in the state of Mississippi. It's about 4.5 miles (7.2 kilometers) north-northeast of Lorman. It's also about 8 miles (12.9 kilometers) south-southwest of Port Gibson. You can find Russum right along U.S. Highway 61.
Travel and Transportation
Long ago, Russum was an important stop on the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad. This railroad helped connect communities and move goods across the region. Even though the trains might not run the same way today, the history of the railroad is still a part of Russum's story.

Russum had its own post office for many years. The post office first opened in 1884. It served the community for a long time, helping people send and receive mail. The post office finally closed its doors in 1955.
