Lorman is a small, unincorporated community located in Jefferson County, Mississippi, in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's not a city with its own local government, but a place where people live and work together. Lorman is about 8 miles (13 km) north of a town called Fayette. You can find it near Highway 61 and Mississippi Highway 552.

History of Lorman
Lorman has an interesting past. It used to be a stop along the Illinois Central Railroad, which was a very important train line for travel and trade.
The community had a post office that first opened in 1884. Back then, it was called "Lee." But in 1899, its name was changed to "Lorman," and it has been known by that name ever since.
Lorman is also home to several old and beautiful historic places called plantations. These were large farms with big houses, often built a long time ago. Some of these historic plantations include Blantonia Plantation, Canemount Plantation, China Grove, Prospect Hill Plantation, and Rosswood.
