Ruxandra studied acting and puppetry at the Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film. She performed in many plays during her studies. At 22, she decided to move to London, United Kingdom. She explained that even though she loves Romania, she felt there were more career chances for her in the UK.

When Ruxandra moved to the United Kingdom, she had only £300. She had to "start over" in a new country. She found a job at Pizza Express and also took acting classes to improve her skills.
