How Ryan's World Started
Ryan Kaji started making YouTube videos in March 2015. He was watching other kids review toys online. He then asked his mom, "How come I'm not on YouTube when all the other kids are?"
Ryan's mom decided to quit her job as a high school chemistry teacher. She wanted to work on the YouTube channel full-time. Before they started the channel, the family changed their real last name to "Kaji" for the show.
Growing the Channel
In 2017, Ryan's parents made a deal with PocketWatch. This company helps children's media grow. PocketWatch helps with marketing and creating merchandise for Ryan's YouTube channels.
In 2018, Ryan ToysReview worked with PocketWatch and WildWorks. They created a fun app called Tag with Ryan. It's an endless runner game for kids on phones and tablets.

Ryan's Impact on Toys
Ryan Kaji has had a big effect on the toy industry. When he reviews a toy, it often gets a lot of views. This can make the toy sell much better. Chris Williams from PocketWatch even compared Ryan to Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants.
