Ryu Saito's Football Journey
Ryu Saito was born in Muroran, Japan, on September 18, 1979. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Kokushikan University, he started his professional career.
Starting with Cerezo Osaka
In 2002, Ryu Saito joined Cerezo Osaka, a team in the J2 League. This league is like the second division of professional football in Japan. Even though he didn't play in any matches that year, his team, Cerezo Osaka, did very well. They were promoted to the J1 League, which is the top football league in Japan, at the end of the 2002 season.
Ryu Saito made his debut in 2003. He played as a center back, a key defensive position. He played in many games for Cerezo Osaka until 2004.
Moving to Thespa Kusatsu
In April 2005, Ryu Saito moved to a new team called Thespa Kusatsu. This team had just been promoted to the J2 League. He quickly became a regular player there. He was a strong center back and played in many matches for two seasons.
Final Season with FC Gifu
In 2007, Ryu Saito joined FC Gifu. This team was part of the Japan Football League, another professional league in Japan. He played 10 matches for them. Ryu Saito decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2007 season.
