Famous Artists and Songs
SBK Records became well-known for signing several artists who had big hits. Some of the popular musicians and groups that worked with SBK Records included:
- Vanilla Ice, who was famous for his rap music.
- Jon Secada, a singer known for his pop songs.
- Wilson Phillips, a popular singing group.
- Technotronic, a music group that made dance music.
- The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who also had music releases through the label.
These artists helped SBK Records have many successful songs on the music charts.
Why SBK Records Closed Down
SBK Records stopped operating in 1995. This happened after the tragic death of Selena, a very popular singer. SBK Records had signed Selena for a special deal called a crossover deal. This meant they were going to help her sing songs in English, as she was already famous for her Spanish music. Her death was a sad event that led to the closure of the record label.
