Sabina Jeschke was born on July 27, 1968, in Kungälv, Sweden. She is a German university professor. She teaches about information sciences in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University.
From November 2017, she was a member of the management board of Deutsche Bahn. There, she was in charge of making things more digital and improving technology. She also leads the Cybernetics Lab IMA/ZLW & IfU. In 2017, she took a break to research artificial consciousness. This is about making machines think like humans. She also helped create a special group called "Strong Artificial Intelligence" at Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden. Since May 2015, she has been on the board of Körber AG. She also led the VDI Aachen board from April 2012. In January 2023, she started working as a senior advisor at Arthur D. Little.

Sabina Jeschke's Journey
Sabina Jeschke studied physics and computer science. She went to the Technische Universität Berlin in Germany. She did a student research project at the NASA Ames Research Center in California, USA. This was a big step in her early career.
She earned her doctorate degree (PhD) in 2004. She received high honors for her work. After two years, she became a junior professor. She taught about new media in math and science. In 2007, she became a full professor. She also directed the IT-Center at the University of Stuttgart. She was also a visiting professor at the Technische Universität Berlin.
In 2009, she joined RWTH Aachen University. She became a professor and director of the IMA/ZLW & IfU Institute Cluster. From 2011 to 2016, she was the vice dean of the Mechanical Engineering Faculty there.

Sabina Jeschke's research covers many exciting areas. These include:

Working at Deutsche Bahn
Sabina Jeschke joined the management board of Deutsche Bahn in November 2017. She was in charge of making the company more digital. She also focused on new technologies. Her first contract was for three years. In December 2019, it was extended for five more years, until the end of 2025. From early 2020, she also oversaw heavy vehicle maintenance.
On February 18, 2021, Jeschke decided to leave her position early. She left the board on May 31, 2021. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten took over her role in September 2021.
Starting New Companies
Sabina Jeschke is very active in starting new businesses. She has founded several companies herself. In April 2021, she started Arctic Brains AB in Sweden. This company develops and advises on Artificial Intelligence.
Since October 2021, she has been the Chair of the Board of KI Park e.V. in Berlin. This group aims to create a leading AI ecosystem in Europe. She was re-elected for another two years in September 2023. In December 2021, she co-founded Quantagonia GmbH. This company works on adapting traditional computer codes for quantum computing. Her newest project, ComplAIzer, uses AI to help companies follow complex legal rules more easily.
