Sadarak (Sədərək) is a special area, like a district, in Azerbaijan. It is part of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which is a unique part of Azerbaijan. Sadarak was created in 1990 from another district called Ilyich (now known as Sharur).
Sadarak has a small piece of land called an exclave named Karki. This exclave is surrounded by another country, Armenia. Karki came under Armenian control in May 1992 during a conflict known as the Nagorno-Karabakh War. The main town, or capital, of Sadarak used to be a place also called Sədərək. Now, the capital is Heydarabad.
