Early Life and Family
Sadou Hayatou was born in a city called Garoua in Cameroon. He had a brother named Issa Hayatou. Issa was also a very well-known person. He was the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for a long time. This organization manages football (soccer) across Africa.
Important Government Roles
Sadou Hayatou began his work in the government of Cameroon in 1984. His first big role was as the Minister of Agriculture. A minister is like a leader of a specific department in the government. He helped manage farming and food production for the country.
Later, from 1987 to 1990, he became the Minister of Finance of Cameroon. In this job, he was in charge of the country's money, taxes, and how the government spent its funds. After these important roles, he became the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is often the head of the government, working closely with the president.

After his time as Prime Minister, Sadou Hayatou took on another significant role. He became the National Director of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC).
