Sahir Ali Bagga is a talented Pakistani singer, music director, and composer. He was born in Lahore, Pakistan. He creates music for Pakistani films, often called Lollywood, and for many other singers.

Sahir Ali Bagga has composed music for several popular Pakistani movies. These include Zinda Bhaag (released in 2013) and Hijrat (from 2016). He also contributed two songs, "Koi Dil Mein" and "Chell Oi," to the 2014 film Tamanna.

He has also composed music for TV shows, like Ishq-e-Benaam on Hum TV. Sahir Ali Bagga became even more well-known after appearing on Coke Studio (Pakistan). Some of his famous songs include "Yeh mumkin tou nahin," "Malang," "Baazi," "Rab Waaris," "Roye Roye," "Dhola," and "Badnamiyan."

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Sahir Ali Bagga was born on April 10, 1980, in Lahore, Pakistan. He grew up in a family that loved music. His father, Amjad Hussain, was a famous music composer and drummer in the 1970s.

Sahir learned music from the family of Ustad Tafu, a very important person in Pakistani classical music. From a young age, Sahir showed a strong interest in music. He started composing melodies when he was still in school, sometimes even getting ideas from newspaper headlines!

Music Career Highlights

Sahir Ali Bagga began his journey in the music industry as a drummer. He later joined a band called Jupiters. There, he met the music video singer Jawad Ahmad. Sahir composed music for Jawad Ahmad's album, which helped him find his own path in music.

Later, the Pakistan Army supported his career. He became an official singer for the National Armed Forces, following in the footsteps of the legendary singer Noor Jehan.

Early Recognition

Sahir first gained wide recognition for his work on a Pakistan Television show called Virsa: Heritage Revived. This show aired from 2009 to 2010. On Virsa, he created music for performances by famous singers like Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Azra Jehan, and Sanam Marvi. The popular show was hosted by Yousuf Salahuddin.

Sahir Ali Bagga has also sung many popular original soundtracks (OSTs) for TV dramas. Some of these include:

In 2020, the government of Pakistan honored Sahir Ali Bagga with the Pride of Performance Award. This award recognized his music composition for "Bara Dushman Bana Phirta Hai." This was a special march song released in December 2015 by the Inter-Services Public Relations. It was created to mark the first anniversary of the tragic 2014 Peshawar school massacre.
