Exploring the Bay
Imagine a quiet spot on the Saguenay River. That's where you'll find L'Anse Saint-Jean! This bay stretches out from the main river. It is about 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) wide. The bay is also about 2.8 kilometers (1.7 miles) long.
A river called the Saint-Jean River flows right into the very end of the bay. The entrance to the bay is marked by two points of land. On the west side, there's "Pointe au Boeuf." On the east side, you'll see "la Grande Pointe."
A Safe Harbor
L'Anse Saint-Jean is located between two other interesting places: Anse du Petit Saguenay to the east and Baie Éternité to the west. For a long time, this bay has been known as a safe spot for boats. If the waves on the Saguenay River get too big, boats can come into L'Anse Saint-Jean to find calm waters. It's a great place for people who enjoy boating!
