The Story of Saint Henry

Saint Henry has an interesting past. The area was first planned out, or platted, around the year 1874. When it was first created, the community had a different name.

Why the Name Changed

The original name for this community was Henryville. However, there was already another town named Henryville in Indiana. To avoid confusion, the name was changed. That is how the community became known as Saint Henry.

Early Services: The Post Office

A post office was set up in Saint Henry in 1870. This was an important service for the people living there. It allowed them to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1933.
