Saint Lucy is the northernmost area in the country of Barbados. It is often called "St. Lucy" for short. This area is special because it is the only one in Barbados named after a female patron saint, Saint Lucy of Syracuse. Saint Lucy is also a peninsula. This means it is surrounded on three sides by the Atlantic Ocean. The ocean borders it to the north, east, and west.

Saint Lucy is one of the eleven parishes, or main areas, that make up the island nation of Barbados. It covers about 36 square kilometers (14 square miles). In 2010, about 9,758 people lived there. The biggest town in Saint Lucy is Checker Hall.
Where is Saint Lucy?
Saint Lucy is located at the very top of Barbados. If you look at a map of the island, it's the part that points furthest north. Because it's a peninsula, it has many beautiful coastal areas. One interesting spot was Harrison's Point. This was once the location of a United States Navy base.

One of the most famous people from Saint Lucy is Errol Barrow. He was the very first Prime Minister of Barbados. A Prime Minister is the leader of a country's government. Errol Barrow helped Barbados become an independent nation. He is remembered as a national hero.

Saint Lucy is also home to talented athletes, especially in cricket. Cricket is a very popular sport in Barbados. Two well-known cricketers, Charlie Griffith and Manny Martindale, were born in Saint Lucy. They both played for the West Indies cricket team.
