Sam's Town Shreveport first opened its doors in 1994. When it first started, it was known by a different name: Harrah's Shreveport.

New Owners in 2004

In 2004, a big change happened. The hotel and casino was bought by Boyd Gaming. They purchased it from its previous owner, Harrah's Entertainment.

After the purchase, Boyd Gaming renamed the place Sam's Town. It officially opened under this new name on May 20, 2004. This location became the fifth Sam's Town casino to open.
