Samuel Harding Hairston (born January 20, 1920 – died October 31, 1997) was a talented baseball player. He played in both the Negro leagues and Major League Baseball. Sam Hairston was a catcher for teams like the Birmingham Black Barons and the Indianapolis Clowns. He also played a short time with the Chicago White Sox in 1951. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.
