Samantha Johnson's College Soccer Journey
Playing for the USC Trojans
Samantha Johnson went to the University of Southern California from 2009 to 2012. There, she played soccer as a forward. In her first year, she played in 20 games and started 19 of them. She scored four goals, which was the second-highest on her team. She was also named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team.
In 2010, Samantha played in all 22 games for the Trojans. In 2011, her junior year, she started all 20 games. She scored the fastest goal in her team's history, just 14 seconds into a match. In her final game as a senior, Samantha scored the winning goal. This helped her team beat their rivals, the UCLA Bruins, 2–1.
Samantha Johnson's Professional Club Career
Playing for the Chicago Red Stars (2014–2018)
In March 2014, Samantha Johnson joined the Chicago Red Stars. This team is part of the National Women's Soccer League. She joined them for preseason after trying out. Samantha made the team's official roster for 2014. She played in twelve games and made one assist. Her first season ended early due to an injury she got in a game on June 18.
In 2015, Samantha played in 14 games for the Red Stars. Chicago made it to the play-offs for the first time that year. Samantha came into their semi-final game as a substitute. The Chicago Red Stars lost that game 3–0.

In 2008, Samantha was part of the United States roster for the 2008 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship. The U.S. team won this championship for the first time. Samantha was also on the team for the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. The United States finished second in that tournament. They lost to North Korea in the final game.
