Samuel L. Gee (January 2, 1928 – June 28, 1969) was an American baseball player. He was a talented shortstop who played in the Negro leagues during the 1940s.

Sammy Gee grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He went to Sidney D. Miller Middle School. There, he was an amazing athlete. He was an all-state player in basketball. He also stood out in football and baseball.
Playing Baseball and Basketball
Sammy Gee played for the New York Cubans in 1948. The Negro leagues were professional baseball leagues. They were for African American players. This was before baseball was fully integrated. After playing in the Negro leagues, he continued to play minor league baseball into the 1950s.
Gee was also a great basketball player. He even played for the famous Harlem Globetrotters. This team is known for combining amazing basketball skills with entertainment.
Sammy Gee passed away in Windsor, Ontario in 1969. He was 41 years old.
