Samuel Ricardo Eugenio Cabrera (born August 12, 1958 – died May 13, 2019) was a Peruvian football player and coach. He played as a defender, which means he helped protect his team's goal. Later in his career, he coached younger players for the Universitario club.

Samuel Eugenio's Life and Career
Early Life and Beginnings
Samuel Eugenio was born in 1958 in a town called San Luis de Cañete, in Peru. His parents were Samuel Eugenio Mazonce and Niela Cabrera Urriola. Before becoming a famous football player, he also worked as a flight engineer for the Peruvian Air Force.
He started his football journey in 1976, playing for a club called Alayza. He stayed there for two years. After that, in 1978, he played for another team known as Golden Wings.
Playing for Universitario
Samuel Eugenio is best known for his time playing for Universitario de Deportes. He played for this important club for ten years, from 1980 to 1989. During his time with Universitario, his team won three major titles. They became champions in 1982, 1985, and 1987. These wins were big moments in his career and for the club.
After leaving Universitario, he also played for Sport Boys in 1991.
Coaching and Later Years
After his playing career, Samuel Eugenio became a coach. In 2012, he was the technical director for Universitario de Deportes' youth team. He coached them in a special tournament called the Copa Libertadores U-20. This shows he continued to be involved in football, helping new, young players.
Sadly, Samuel Eugenio passed away on Monday, May 13, 2019. He had to have an emergency operation before his death.
