Samuli Casimir Edelmann (born on July 21, 1968) is a famous Finnish actor and singer. He is known for his many roles in movies and TV shows, and for his popular songs.

About Samuli Edelmann
Samuli Edelmann was born in Pori, Finland. His mother, Marja-Leena Kouki, was an actress, and his father, Toni Edelmann, was a composer. Samuli has two children with his ex-wife, Laura Tuomarila. In 2006, he and his family moved to Malta. They moved back to Finland in 2015.
Samuli as an Actor
Samuli Edelmann finished his studies at the Theatre Academy of Finland in 1991. Even before he graduated, he had already acted in three movies. These included Talvisota and two Vääpeli Körmy films.
He became very famous after his role as Vähy in the movie Veturimiehet heiluttaa in 1992. Some of his other well-known movie roles include Patrick in Romanovin kivet (1993) and Jussi Murikka in Häjyt (1999). He also played Roope in Levottomat (2000) and Aki in Minä ja Morrison (2001). Later, he was Tomppa in Rööperi.
Besides movies, Samuli has also acted in TV series like Vintiöt and Irtiottoja. He has also lent his voice to many cartoon characters. For example, he voiced a character in Tanoshii Moomin Ikka (TV series). He was also the Finnish voice of Shrek in the movie Shrek. In 2011, he appeared in the big Hollywood movie Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. He played the role of a henchman named Wistrom.
Samuli as a Singer
Samuli Edelmann also became famous as a singer. His song "Pienestä kii" was a big hit in 1991. In the same year, his song "Peggy" was considered for the Eurovision Song Contest. However, it was not chosen to represent Finland that year.
In 1995, he sang a duet called "Tuhat yötä" with Sani from the band Aikakone. This song was one of the most successful songs of that year. Samuli has also sung duets with other artists. These include Mikko Kuustonen, Laura Närhi, Cata Mansikka-aho, Mari Rantasila, and Irina Björklund. Some of his other popular songs are "(Sinä olet) Aurinko," also known as Ihana valo, "Kaikki tahtoo," and "Karavaanari."
Samuli Edelmann has also released an album called Vaiheet. This album features songs that his father, Toni Edelmann, composed. The songs use words from famous writers like Hesse, Goethe, Shakespeare, and Denisov.
Samuli has won three Emma awards. These are important music awards in Finland. He won New Male Artist of the Year and two Artist of the Year awards. He has also had three platinum albums and three gold albums. This makes him one of Finland's best-selling male artists.
