San Carlos is a cool town and a municipality in Colombia. It's located in the Antioquia area, specifically in the eastern part. People often call San Carlos the hydro-electrical capital of Colombia. This is because it has many dams that help create a lot of electricity for the country. In 2018, about 14,480 people lived here.

A Look Back in Time
San Carlos has an interesting past! A long time ago, a brave explorer named Captain Francisco Nuñez Pedroso found the spot where the town now stands. The town itself was officially started on August 14, 1786. That's over 200 years ago!
