San Carlos is an important city in Venezuela. It is the capital of the Cojedes state. This city is also the main town of the Ezequiel Zamora Municipality. In 2001, about 83,957 people lived in the municipality.

San Carlos de Austria was founded on April 27, 1678. A Capuchin priest named Fray Pedro de Berja started the city.
