San Joaquín is a small town in the Beni Department of Bolivia. It is located in the lowlands of the country. The town is mainly known for its farming activities.

The town of San Joaquín began as a Jesuit mission in 1709. The Jesuits were a group of priests who built missions to teach and live with local people. The Baure Indians lived at this mission.

San Joaquín is the main town of Mamoré Province. It sits about 142 meters (466 feet) above sea level. The town is located just west of the Machupo River, which flows into the Iténez River.

San Joaquín is about 220 kilometers (137 miles) north of Trinidad. Trinidad is the capital city of the Beni Department.

San Joaquín is found in an area called the Moxos Plains. These plains are also known as the Llanos de Moxos. This huge area covers about 100,000 square kilometers (38,610 square miles). It is one of the largest wetlands on Earth.
