The Church of San Miguel de los Navarros is a beautiful old church in Zaragoza, Spain. It has a main hall called a nave, with smaller rooms or chapels on the sides. At the back, it has a rounded end called an apse, and a tall bell tower on its north side.

What Makes It Special?

Mudéjar Style and the Bell Tower

The church and its bell tower are great examples of Mudéjar architecture. This is a special style of building that mixes Christian and Islamic art. It was created by Muslims who stayed in Spain after the Christians took over.

The bell tower is very impressive. It has three levels, each decorated with fancy brick patterns. On top of the tower, there is a spire that was added in the 1700s. This spire looks a lot like the one on another famous building, the Torre de la Seo.

Baroque Details and Art

The front wall of the church, made of brick, and the choir area were built in the Baroque period. This was a time in art and architecture (from the early 1600s to the mid-1700s) known for being very grand and decorative.

Inside the church, the main altar has a colorful wooden sculpture. This amazing artwork was created by a famous artist named Damian Forment. He was a Renaissance artist, working in a period (from the 1300s to the 1600s) known for new ideas in art and science.
