San Pablo de las Salinas is a large neighborhood in the Tultitlán Municipality in the State of Mexico, Mexico. It's the second-biggest neighborhood in Tultitlán. This area is part of the bigger Mexico City metropolitan area, which means it's connected to the large city of Mexico City. In 2010, about 189,453 people lived there. This was more than a third (36.15%) of all the people living in the Tultitlán Municipality! San Pablo de las Salinas is located close to the northern edge of the Federal District, which is the official name for Mexico City. It's also one of the largest places in Mexico that isn't a main town (called a "municipal seat") for its area.

How San Pablo de las Salinas Started

The neighborhood of Granjas San Pablo began in 1957. The very first family to move there was Don Antonio Lopez-Araiza y Padilla and his wife Consuelo Villegas de Araiza. They moved with their children: Guillermina Araiza Garcia, Nancy Araiza Martinez, Abel Araiza, Antonio Araiza, and Carlos Araiza. This family helped start the community that grew into the large neighborhood we see today.
