San Ramón, Junín facts for kids
San Ramón is a lively town in the Chanchamayo Province of the Junín Region in Peru. It sits on the eastern side of the Andean mountains. The closest town is La Merced, which is the capital of the province. It's about 12 km (7.5 mi) away.
Exploring San Ramón's Location
San Ramón is located about 820 metres (2,690 ft) above sea level. It's a special place where two rivers, the Tarma River and the Tulumayu River, meet. These two rivers then join to form the Chanchamayo River. Further downstream, this river becomes the Perené River.
Near the town, you can find a beautiful spot called the Terol Waterfall. It's a great place to visit in the jungle! To the west of San Ramón, there's a mountain called Toro Huajrashga Mountain.
Life in San Ramón
San Ramón is home to about 30,000 people. The town has a warm and humid tropical climate. This means it's usually hot and rainy, especially from December to March. Temperatures in San Ramón typically range between 14 and 31 °C (57 and 88 °F).
The town also has a small airport. This airport helps connect San Ramón to other parts of the Central Jungle of Peru.

San Ramón experiences a tropical climate with distinct wet and dry seasons. The wettest months are usually from December to March. Even during the drier months, there can still be some rain. The air is often quite humid, especially during the rainy season.
