Sandy Martin is an American actress, playwright, director, and producer. She is well-known for her roles in the movie Napoleon Dynamite and TV shows like Big Love, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Ray Donovan.
Sandy Martin's Acting Journey
Sandy Martin began her acting career when she was just 15 years old. She helped start several successful theater groups in New York City and Los Angeles. She also helped turn many plays into movie scripts. She even worked as a producer for some TV shows, including the 1993 film Gettysburg.

Sandy Martin has played many different characters over the years. In the movie Napoleon Dynamite, she played Grandma Dynamite. She also voiced Grandma in the animated TV show based on the movie.
She was in the movie Marley & Me, where she played the woman who sold the dog Marley. In the 2017 movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, she played the mother of Officer Dixon.
On TV, she played Mrs. Mac in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for many years. She was also Sandy Patrick, Mickey Donovan's sister-in-law, in the show Ray Donovan. In the HBO series Big Love, she played Selma Green.
Recent Work and Voice Acting
More recently, Sandy Martin appeared in the 2019 movie Dumbo as Verna The Secretary. She met the director, Tim Burton, a long time ago through a friend. They reconnected and she got the role.
She also used her voice for a character in the Pixar animated movie Luca. She voiced Grandma Paguro in that film.
