This frog lives at high elevations, usually between 1,100 and 2,000 meters above sea level. It's one of the most common frogs in its group, the Nyctimystes genus.

Where It Lives

This special frog likes to live in different places. You can find it in open valleys, inside forests, and in areas with lots of reeds near rivers. It enjoys places where there is plenty of water and plants.

What It Looks Like

The sandy big-eyed tree frog comes in different sizes. An adult male frog can grow up to 4.5 centimeters long. The adult female frog is a bit bigger, reaching up to 6.0 centimeters long.

Its skin color can be yellow-brown, gray, or dark brown on its back. It often has darker spots and patches that help it blend in with its surroundings. Its belly is white. One cool feature is the bright orange webbing between some of its toes! It also has small teeth on the roof of its mouth.
