Sant Andreu de Llavaneres is a town in Catalonia, Spain. It is located about 36 kilometers (22 miles) north of Barcelona. This town is on the Mediterranean coast.

It sits between the towns of Mataró and Sant Vicenç de Montalt. Sant Andreu de Llavaneres is part of the Maresme area. People often call it simply Llavaneres.

Llavaneres faces the sea to the east. A natural park is located to its west. The town has a mix of farms and homes. It has become a popular spot for vacations. Many people from Barcelona spend their summers here.

Getting to Llavaneres is easy. There is a train line to Barcelona. The C-32 highway and the N-2 road also connect it. These links make travel simple.

Today, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres is known for its fancy sailing. This activity is very popular in the summer.

What is the History of Llavaneres?

The oldest signs of people here are from the Neolithic period. This was a very long time ago. These signs are found in the rocks of "Sant Magí" mountains.

Between two rivers, Llavaneres and les Bruixes, is the old village of Can Sanç. This village dates back to Roman times. People there grew grapes for wine and olive trees. The main work was farming, just like in nearby Mataro.

Later, the area was called Sant Andreu de Llavaneres. It used to be part of Mataro. It became its own independent town in the mid-1500s.

In the 1920s, Sant Andreu de Llavaneres became a resort. Wealthy people from Barcelona came to visit. Many beautiful buildings were built then. Architects like Joaquim Lloret i Homs designed them.
