Santa Catalina Island is a small island in Colombia. It is located in the beautiful Caribbean Sea. This island is part of the San Andrés y Providencia Department. It is also the most northern island in South America.
Santa Catalina Island has two main bays. These bays are called Old John Bay and Eliza Bay.
Connecting to Providencia Island
Santa Catalina Island is very close to a bigger island. This larger island is named Providencia Island. A special footbridge connects the two islands. This bridge is about 100-metre (330 ft) long. It makes it easy to travel between them.
Climate and Weather
The island of Santa Catalina has a dry climate. This means it does not get a lot of rain. However, it does have two rainy periods each year.
