Santa Fe de la Laguna is a special town in Mexico, located in the state of Michoacán. It's home to the Purépecha people. This town is about 27 kilometers (17 miles) from Patzcuaro. It's a place where the Purépecha people keep their old traditions and ways of life alive.
Making pottery is a very important job here. The people of Santa Fe de la Laguna create beautiful, colorful handmade pottery in many different shapes. Did you know the director Lee Unkrich used this town as inspiration for the Pixar movie Coco? He stayed here while making the film.
