Santa Venera is a lively town located in the country of Malta. It is part of Malta's Outer Harbour Region. In 2013, about 6,941 people lived here. Santa Venera is known for its interesting history and important old buildings.

Exploring Santa Venera's History

Famous Old Buildings
Two of the most famous buildings in Santa Venera are the Wignacourt Aqueduct and Casa Leoni.
Wignacourt Aqueduct
The Wignacourt Aqueduct is a huge water system. It was built in the 17th century by the Knights of St. John. This aqueduct brought fresh water from inland areas to the capital city, Valletta. Parts of it, including a reconstructed arch, can still be seen today. It is a great example of old engineering.
Casa Leoni
Casa Leoni is another historic building. It was also built by the Knights of St. John. This grand house has a beautiful design. It shows the style of architecture from that period. Today, it is used as the office for the Prime Minister's wife.
Sports in Santa Venera
Like many towns, Santa Venera has its own sports team. The local football team is called the St. Venera Lightnings. They play in the town's official colours, which are yellow and blue. Supporting the local team is a fun way for people in Santa Venera to show their town pride.
