Santa and the Three Bears is an animated movie from 1970. It often plays on TV during the holiday season. This film was first shown in movie theaters. Later, it became a popular TV special.
The movie even won an award! It received a "blue ribbon" for Best Family Film. This award came from the San Francisco International Film Festival.
Sometimes, when you watch it on TV, you might notice parts are missing. The movie starts and ends with real people, not cartoons. These "live-action" parts are often cut out for TV. A shorter version was released on VHS in 1992.
Story of the Bears
This movie is about two young bear cubs named Nikomi and Chinook. They have never heard about Christmas before. A park ranger tells them the exciting story of Santa Claus. The cubs become very curious and want to meet Santa.
Their mother, Nana, is getting ready for their long winter sleep. She tells her children that Santa isn't real. But Nikomi and Chinook really want to believe. They are so excited about Santa that they don't want to hibernate. Their mother finds it hard to get them to sleep. The young cubs want to stay awake until Santa arrives!
