Santiago Manuin Valera facts for kids
Santiago Manuin Valera (born January 1, 1957 – died July 1, 2020) was an important leader from Peru. He worked to protect the rights of indigenous people. He was born in Condorcanqui Province, Peru.
He was a key leader for the Aguaruna people in Peru. He led a group called the Committee for the Struggle for Respect for Indigenous Peoples of the Condorcanqui. This group worked to make sure indigenous people were treated fairly. He spoke out against the Túpac Amaru Revolutionary Movement.
Manuin Valera died on July 1, 2020, at the age of 63. He passed away in Chiclayo, Peru, due to COVID-19.
