Santiago Papasquiaro is a city in Mexico. It is located in a valley on the eastern side of the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains. This city is part of the Durango state.
In 2010, about 26,121 people lived in Santiago Papasquiaro. By 2015, the larger area around the city, known as the municipality, had about 48,482 people. It is the fourth biggest community in Durango based on population. The city is also the main town for the municipality of the same name. The municipality covers a large area of about 7,238 square kilometers.
The city has seen many improvements recently, making things like roads and services better. Farming is a very important part of how people make a living here. Santiago Papasquiaro is also where the Mexican Army's 71st Infantry Battalion is based.
