- Federico Bahamontes (1928–2023) was a professional road racing cyclist. He was born in Santo Domingo-Caudilla. Bahamontes was known as "The Eagle of Toledo" because of his amazing climbing skills. He made history by winning the Tour de France in 1959. This is one of the most important cycling races in the world. He was the first Spanish cyclist to ever win this prestigious event.
