Satoru Mochizuki (望月 聡, Mochizuki Satoru, born 18 May 1964) is a Japanese football coach and former player. He used to play for the Japan national team. Today, he is the head coach for the Indonesia women's national football team.

Playing for Clubs
Satoru Mochizuki was born in Otsu, Japan, on May 18, 1964. After finishing college, he joined a team called Nippon Kokan in 1987. This team later became known as NKK SC.
During his time with NKK, the team did very well. They finished second in the 1987–88 Japan Soccer League. They also won the 1987 JSL Cup, which is a big tournament.
In 1992, Mochizuki moved to a new team, Urawa Reds. This team played in the top Japanese league, called the J1 League.
Later, in 1995, he joined Kyoto Purple Sanga. This club was in the Japan Football League at the time. In 1995, Kyoto Purple Sanga finished second and moved up to the J1 League. Mochizuki stopped playing professional football in 1996.
Playing for Japan
Satoru Mochizuki played for the Japanese national team. His first game was on January 27, 1988, against the United Arab Emirates.
He also played in the qualifying games for the 1990 World Cup in 1989. In total, he played 7 games for Japan before 1989.
Coaching Career
After he stopped playing, Mochizuki became a coach. From 2008 to 2012, he worked as an assistant coach for the Japan women's national football team. He helped the team win the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which was a huge achievement!
In February 2024, Mochizuki became the main coach for the Indonesia women's national football team. He also coached the Indonesian women's Under-17 team. They played in the 2024 AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup tournament in Bali.
His first game as head coach for the senior Indonesian women's team was on May 28, 2024. They had a great start, winning 5–1 against Singapore in a friendly match.
Under Mochizuki's coaching, the Indonesian team played in the 2024 AFF Women's Cup. This tournament also helped them qualify for the upcoming ASEAN Women's Championship. Indonesia made history by winning their first ever trophy! They beat Cambodia 3–1 in the final game.
