Satoshi Nakayama (中山 悟志, Nakayama Satoshi, born November 7, 1981) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, which means he was one of the main players who tried to score goals for his team.

Satoshi Nakayama's Football Journey
Satoshi Nakayama was born in Miyazaki, Japan, on November 7, 1981. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 2000. He joined a top Japanese team called Gamba Osaka, which plays in the J1 League.
Early Career at Gamba Osaka
From 2004, Satoshi often played as a substitute forward for Gamba Osaka. This means he would come into the game later to help his team, but he wasn't a starting player. In June 2005, he joined another J1 League team, Nagoya Grampus Eight, for a short time. He played in many games there.
He went back to Gamba Osaka in 2006 and continued to play as a substitute. However, in 2007, he didn't get to play much at all.
Moving to New Teams
In 2008, Satoshi moved to Roasso Kumamoto, a team in the J2 League. The J2 League is the second-highest division of football in Japan. He became a regular player there and played in many matches during 2008.
However, in 2009, he played less often and left the club at the end of that year. In May 2010, he joined another J2 club, Mito HollyHock, where he often played as a substitute forward.
Success with V-Varen Nagasaki
In 2011, Satoshi joined V-Varen Nagasaki, a team in the Japan Football League (JFL). The JFL was a lower league at that time. He became a key player for them and scored 11 goals in 2012. That year, his team won the championship and was promoted to the J2 League for 2013.
Even though his team moved up, Satoshi didn't play any matches in 2013.
Final Years at FC Ryukyu
In August 2013, he moved to FC Ryukyu, another team in the JFL. He played many games for them, and FC Ryukyu was also promoted to a new league called the J3 League in 2014. The J3 League is another professional football league in Japan.
Satoshi continued to play regularly for FC Ryukyu until 2015. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2015 season.
Achievements and Awards
Satoshi Nakayama achieved some special awards during his career:
- He was the top scorer at the Asian Games in 2002.
- He was also the top scorer at the Toulon Tournament in 2002.
