Saucier has a history tied to the Kansas City Southern Railway. This railway helped the town grow. In the past, Saucier had a sawmill, which cut wood. It also had a drugstore, a candy shop, and five general stores. These stores sold many different things to the people living there. The first post office in Saucier opened in 1893.
