Savant Young (born June 19, 1976) is an American retired mixed martial artist. He competed professionally from 1998 to 2013. During his career, he fought in many well-known organizations. These included the WEC and Bellator. He also competed in Shooto, Affliction, and the IFL.

Savant Young's MMA Journey
Starting a Full-Time Career
Savant Young had his first professional fight in 1998. However, he decided to train for mixed martial arts full-time in June 2006. This was a big step in his career. He wanted to dedicate himself completely to the sport.
Key Fights and Achievements
In February 2007, Young won his first fight in the International Fight League (IFL). He defeated Ed West by a unanimous decision. This means all the judges agreed he won the fight. Young had a record of two wins and two losses in the IFL.
This experience led to a big opportunity. He got to fight Takeshi Inoue in a Shooto event. Many people expected Inoue to win. But Savant Young surprised everyone! He won the fight by unanimous decision. Young has said this victory was very important. It helped him get a fight contract with the new Affliction Clothing Promotion.
Young fought at Affliction's first event, called Affliction: Banned. He faced UFC veteran Mark Hominick. Young lost this fight in the second round by an armbar submission.

Savant Young continued to compete in various promotions. He fought for King of the Cage and Tachi Palace Fights. His career showed his dedication to the sport. He officially retired from professional fighting in 2013.
