Schicker Mound is an ancient Native American site. It is an archaeological site found near Tallulah, Louisiana, in the United States. This historical place is located very close to modern suburban houses.

What is Schicker Mound?

Schicker Mound is a special type of ancient structure called a platform mound. Imagine a large, flat-topped hill built by people long ago. Today, this mound is about 5 feet (1.5 m) tall. Its base, or bottom, measures about 115 feet (35 m) by 115 feet (35 m).

Why is it important?

Archaeologists study sites like Schicker Mound to learn about the people who lived there in the past. These mounds were often used for important ceremonies or as bases for buildings.

What have we found there?

So far, surveys of the site have not found many artifacts. This means it's hard for experts to say exactly when the mound was built. It's a bit of a mystery!

How has the mound changed?

In 1926, some of the mound was removed. This happened to make space for a house and a cellar. This change means the mound is not exactly as it was when it was first built.
